When You Need to Go Big in Your Bending

When a shop needs to take on a long bending project, RMT offers 20′ brakes with up to 660-tons of bending capacity. Longer brakes can be custom ordered, and RMT press brakes are designed to be operated in tandem, trio, and even quad configurations, increasing the bending length just by adding another brake flush against the first that can be operated in sync from the same control.
What if your need for a bigger brake isn’t about length but tonnage, however? That’s where the RMT B-GIANT Series of massive press brakes come in. These monster trucks of the metal bending world are available with up to a herculean 20,000-ton capacity and 40′ bending lengths if needed. Naturally, RMT will build custom machines even bigger, if requested, and like their more normal-sized counterparts, the B-GIANT brakes can be configured together in tandem, trio and quad arrangements.
Features of the RMT B-GIANT Press Brakes
The engineering marvels comprising the B-GIANT Series tout a large laundry list of standard features and offer optional accessories that most of the competition can only dream about:
• CNC Axes — A 7-axis control is standard, including Y1/Y2 precision ram positioning, X and R precision servo-driven back gauge with Z1/Z2 axes, and CNC motorized wave crowning. It can be optionally expanded to 14+ axes, including X1/X2, R1/R2, X Prime (Delta X), and more.
• Control — Delem DA-66T touch screen CNC control unit with 3D graphical visualization standard. Includes adjustable height suspension control unit arm. Optional controls: Delem DA-69T touch screen 2D/3D CNC; Cybelec ModEva 10S/12S/15S 3D with PC 1200 3D SW.
• Back Gauge — AC servo motor-driven for stable, fast, and precise operation. Includes linear guide and ball bearing system (X, R, Z1, Z2 axes). Standard X-axis travel is 32.3″ with third gauge step capable of gauging parts up to 41.7″ with standard back gauge on most machines. Optional: Extended back gauge stroke; back protection with light barrier.
• Safety — Standard: Safety laser with manual F. AKAS II M, FPSC-B-C, and safety covers with switch; machine protection covers (side and rear safety doors); rear work light. Optional: Motorized F. AKAS III M safety laser, SICK C 4000 light curtain for tandem/trio/quad machines.
• Replaceable Parts — B-GIANT brakes are built with world-class hydraulic and electronic components that are easily replaceable by the end user off-the-shelf from a local supply house (also stocked by RMT in-house). These include Hoerbiger hydraulic blocks and valves and electronics systems from Siemens, Schneider, and Mitsubishi.
Other standard features include quick-set sliding front sheet support arms with full-length linear guide, tilting stop and T-slot (for front gauge squaring, etc.); ability to accurately fade ram; stage bending; automatic bend sequence determination; and an automatic stretch length calculator for blank size determination. Various tool options, tooling packages, and off-line software are available.
Like all press brakes from RMT, the B-GIANT Series machines utilize high-yield plate construction and feature RMT’s “large trio of value” to help customers make even bigger bends — large open height, large stroke, large throat depth.
